Sir balin, The Dupe of Fate

Good Day Fellow Questers,

Many apologies for the lack of response from myself, I was only recently helped out of the rubble of King Pellam’s castle by Merlin. I was only following the orders of my king, Arthur, when I went in search of the Knight le Berbeus. From there I was overcome with trial after trial. Twice, knights under my protection were felled by an invisible knight, Garlon. Twice I vowed to avenge their murders and continue their quests.

Whence I finally met up with the knight Garlon, he was at a banquet at the castle of King Pellam, his brother. Following my vows and under my honor as a knight, I continued past the pages and stewards and sought to fight Garlon to avenge the murders at his hands. Once I killed him, King Pellam vowed revenge, and broke my sword in combat. I fled through the corridors to find a new weapon, and that was when I saw the spear. I had no idea what would happen, yet I took it and fought. I smote Pellam and wounded him grievously, at which time the castle came down upon us.

Thus are we here now where I began my story, at the point where Merlin raised us after three days from the rubble. I saw that the lands were turned to waste, and felt the pangs of sorrow creep through my soul. Then and there I vowed to give up my life, yet something lingered that would draw my away from that vow. That tale is another, beyond our scope of the quest for the Grail, as Merlin as prophesized many different times.

Sir Bsalan, picking up the spear may hav been a good idea at times, but remember, a true knight is good at actual combat. You may remeber my words for the rest of your life. Even know defeating the moral enemy can lead to prosperity, greed may lead to a devastation.
